Classic Laurel Bar
Everyday olive and laurel, a gentle daily clean.
Ghār has made Aleppo laurel soap the slow way since 1953. Olive oil and laurel berry oil, cold pressed, hand cut, and cured for months in our old-city workshop.
Real Aleppo soap is olive oil and laurel berry oil, cooked in a copper pot, poured by hand, and cut into cubes. No palm oil, no fragrance, no dye. The more laurel a bar carries, the rarer and more prized it is.
We stamp each cube with our seal, then leave it to cure for months until the outside turns the colour of clay and the inside stays a deep laurel green.
A soft daily bar for face, hands, and body.
More laurel, a richer lather and deeper scent.
The most laurel, cured the longest, the most prized.
A family workshop since 1953, in the old city of Aleppo. Every bar is cured up to 9 months, then packed by hand and shipped to 40 countries.
Cold-process bars and sets, cured slow and made to last in the dish.

Everyday olive and laurel, a gentle daily clean.

Forty percent laurel, cured nine months.

The mildest bar, plant simple.

Laurel softened with Damascus rose.

Laurel with black seed oil.

A laurel bar made for hair.

Four bars in a stamped box.

Three aged bars for the patient.

Ghār began in 1953 as a family workshop in the old city of Aleppo, three generations cooking the same two oils in the same copper pots.
We have never been in a hurry. The soap is cooked, poured, cut, stamped, and stacked by hand, then left to cure for months while the air does the last of the work. It is the slowest way to make soap, and the only way we know.
A bar should take longer to make than it does to use. That is the whole idea.
Our bars wrapped in paper and packed in a stamped box, ready to travel.

The Classic, the Aged, the Rose, and the Black Seed, four bars to meet the whole range, wrapped in paper and a stamped box.

Three high-laurel bars at the peak of their cure, our most generous gift, for those who already love aged Aleppo soap.
We pack every order by hand and ship worldwide. Our soap travels well, it only gets harder and milder with time.
