Ghaliya
غاليةDamascene rose, oud, old musk

غالية
An Arabian perfume house. Oud, amber, rose, and musk, composed slowly and aged before they leave us.
Ghaliya took its name from an old word that means precious, and from the classical blend of musk, amber, and oud that perfumers once mixed by that name.
We still work that way. The oud is cut and graded by hand. The rose is the Damascene one, distilled in the spring and kept. Each blend rests in glass for months before it is poured, because a perfume, like the people who wear it, is better once it has settled.
Nothing here is made in a hurry, and nothing is made in great quantity. What we sell is what the house could finish properly this season.

Damascene rose, oud, old musk

Oud, leather, incense

Damascene rose, saffron, oud

Amber, vanilla, benzoin

White musk, neroli, cedar

Aged agarwood, cut and graded in the house. The spine of almost everything we make.

Resins and labdanum, warmed together. The note that makes a scent feel lit from inside.

Distilled from the spring harvest and kept for the year. Deep, a little spiced, never sugary.

Soft, clean, and patient. What holds a perfume to the skin long after the rest has spoken.

A scent is the one thing you cannot photograph. So we take our time with it.

Alongside the perfumes we age our own bakhoor: oud chips soaked in our blends and dried, to be burned on a coal so a room takes the scent before the guests arrive.
It is sold by weight in the boutique, boxed for a gift if you ask, and it is the oldest way an Arabian house has welcomed anyone. Come in and we will burn a little for you.
Find the boutiqueA small shop with a long counter. We will take you through the collection slowly, on paper and on skin, with coffee. No need to buy.
